Description

The SHIFTphone 8 is Shift’s eighth model and will be the company’s first water-resistant, IP-certified device — without compromising its well-known modularity. Shift’s goal is to ensure at least protection against temporary submersion. The device will also feature hardware kill switches, allowing secure control over modules like the cameras and microphones.

Like the SHIFT6mq, the SHIFTphone 8 is equipped with a power-efficient Qualcomm processor, large internal storage, and a Micro-SDXC card slot.

A major focus during development is the camera. Shift is taking further steps here to significantly improve image quality and usability.

In addition to modularity, water protection, performance, camera quality, and ample storage, Android™ 14 and the easily swappable battery ensure that the SHIFTphone 8 becomes a reliable everyday companion.

Warranty:
The SHIFTphone 8.1 comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of delivery.
The universal battery included in the SHIFTphone 8.1 has a 12-month warranty.
A 5-year repair guarantee also applies from the date of delivery. This means your SHIFTphone 8.1 can still be repaired up to five years after purchase — but it does not mean the cost of the repair is covered.
For example, if the display is damaged after five years, we guarantee a replacement part will be available, but you’ll cover the cost yourself.

Software Promise:
The processor used in the SHIFTphone 8 is officially supported by Qualcomm until 2036. Within this period, we guarantee Android upgrades (e.g., Android 15 to 16).
Even beyond that, we aim to continue providing major updates by optimizing our software base.
Security updates will also be offered well beyond 2036, with the necessary technical and staffing infrastructure in place.

E-waste Positive:
The SHIFTphone 8.1 will be e-waste positive. For every device sold, Shift — in collaboration with Closing the Loop — brings an old or broken phone from the Global South to Europe for professional recycling.
The recovered raw materials are then reused in new SHIFTphones.
